One Battle At a Time

"Russ, you can't always fight on all four fronts. You need to fight one battle at a time.  That way you can give each your full attention."

Life is full of battles.  Not necessarily physical ones, but mental ones.  Sometimes you'd rather take the physical ass whipping and get it over with because mental scars can lasts for years.

When I was growing up, and for most of my life I was always fighting some type of battle.  I wouldn't take shit from no one.  Most of my adversaries couldn't beat me physically so they would always try to mind fuck me.

I think if most people look back on their lives, they would see that there is a whole lot of mind fucking going on.  It first starts with your parents, that for some reason, you want approval from.  As if you need their approval to live your life.

Then comes relationships.  Very seldom are people with the first person they meet, so they've gone through break-ups.  When people are breaking up, they are mind fucking 24/7.

Then comes the job, where you most likely work with some muthafucker you can't stand.  So, you're mind fucking eachother as much as you can in those eight hours.

Then come you're children.  When they become teenagers, they're mind fucking you 24 hours a day while living in your house.

There's also your siblings that hold some sort of "Mom likes you better" bullshit so they're mind fucking you every Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day and at the 4th of July family barbeque.

Everyday we're battling somebody or something, but just remember, if you want to win, take one battle at a time.

Do you know what I'm talking about?

  1. Taking one thing at a time has always been the easy way to solution. Amazing how current society seems to think life is a multitask
