I Started Running With the Big Boys

That night, I started running with the big boys, and either I ran with them or I was going to get run over.

The ghetto is the same no matter where it's located.  The unwritten rule of the ghetto, the universal law, the common destiny of all - The strong take from the weak and the wise take from them all.

Growing up in the ghetto, at an early age, I realized that you had to fight to get respect.  As I became older, I realized that people in general loved to pick on, or wield power over people weaker than them.  They subconsciously fear people stronger than them and they sleep on people wiser than they are.

The wise person knows when to portray weakness to ensnare the strong.  When I got caught up in the situation with the drug dealers, I got played.  They were too strong for me because I was outnumbered, out of town and at their mercy.

I allowed these men to take over my residence and put my freedom and life at risk.  I knew the only way that I could survive was to out think them.  In order to out think them, I had to become one of them.

Are you the strong, the weak or the wise?
