I’m Going to Burn the Fucking House Down!

“I got people looking at your house, and if I hear that that muthafucker moved back in, I’m going to burn the fucking house down with your old ass in it.”

I truly understand the phrase "There but for the grace of God, there go I."  I think back in my life about all of the things I've done, some justified and some not.  But, had I been arrested for even one of the laws that I've broken, I'd be doing a life sentence.  I never murdered anyone.  I've never raped a woman.  I only crossed people that had it coming to them.

The ghetto is a wicked place.  So many people die, that the death of one person is a tragedy but the death of a mass number of people is just a statistic.  So easily was I willing to become a statistic or make someone a statistic.

I have empathy for incarcerated men.  The only ones I can't stand are pedophiles and rapists.  Murders, hey, shit can happen.  Thieves, sometimes you got to do what you got to do, to get by.

How many of us have gotten into a fight where someone could have fell, hit their head and died?  How many of us were so enraged that we wanted to strike someone?  How many of us have stolen, maybe not with a gun, but by downloading songs, stealing cable or cheating on our taxes.  If you got caught, they would have sent you to jail.

I can honestly say, within the depths of my soul, that I fucked up a lot.  Again, I repeat, "There but for the grace of God, there go I."  It's not the fucking up that makes a person bad.  We've all made some fucked up decisions, at one time or another and have had to pay the consequences.  It's when you repeat the fuck up and not learn from it which is the problem.

Learn from your mistakes or else you're just a fuck up.

Have you fucked up?  Did you learn from it or are you a fuck up?
